Changing the number of columns in a move

Some columns in the XSheet contain information that 'belongs together' (such as the E/W and N/S moves in a Camera, Transform or Move node). These columns together make a column group, beneath an extra heading giving the column group name (such as Move). You can change the column group so it either has two separate columns for the E/W and N/S moves, or a single column that stores the E/W - N/S moves together in each keyframe.

To change this:

  1. Click on the column group name.
  1. If the Properties window isn't displayed, choose View > Properties.
  1. Click on the Path tab.
  1. In the Properties window, set the Column Mode to 2 Subcolumns or 1 Subcolumn.
(For details of Path mode, see Using path mode.)

When you change the number of columns, Director will retain the values in keyframes. When changing from 1 to 2 columns, the timing will be the same in both the new columns as it was in the single old one. However, when changing from 2 to 1 column, it's not possible to combine the timing in both sets of keyframes, so you may lose some information.

You'll be warned that your changes may damage timing, and asked to confirm that you wish to make the change.
